Pathways to Leadership
Uplifting the voices, hearts, and leadership capacity of racialized immigrant and refugee women.
The Racialized, Immigrant and Refugee Women’s Society is a not-for-profit society dedicated to supporting racialized, immigrant, refugee, and undocumented women to follow their dreams so that they can fulfill their potential and contribute to a more equitable world.
Join our Pathways to Leadership program to build confidence, develop skills, and connect to a community of support.
“Now I have goals, a lot of projects, amazing friends, a big network, and my life is 100% better. I am more confident, and I know that I deserve respect and to be treated well.”
– Pathways GraduatePathways shifts the focus towards empowerment and a need for social action. Unlike government-funded settlement and integration programs that focus on readiness for low-paying employment, Pathways to Leadership supports women in developing not just fulfilling careers, but also meaningful life goals and civic engagement. We recognize that the many systemic barriers that these women experience are real and not a reflection of personal failure or inadequacy.
We are dedicated to:
- intersectional transformative leadership
- enhanced economic security
- environmental, racial, and indigenous justice
- civic engagement and collective advocacy
“Pathways gave me a chance to be a better person. It was a safe space.”
